Life, In General by [info]dracofiend  (PG)
For Harry, assistant head of the Auror Division and father of three, it’s an ordinary life. Maybe helping Malfoy makes it a little less so.

Wonderful story!

I loved the Christmas party at the Burrow...it was just the way I would expect a holiday gathering with the Weasley family...Molly yelling, lots of food, people looking for their kids...and I really liked it that it was soo normal for them that Draco was there as well.

I loved the kids, especially in the scene where they went shopping.

I really liked it that Harry and Ginny got along so well, no big drama or heart break.

And I really loved the way the author wrote Harry and Draco as capable and responsible adults.

Fantastic story. Really enjoyed this one!

So Hard a Master by [info]bryoneybrynn  (PG-13)
When it comes to love, not all dreams can come true. But how do you know which dreams to let go of and which ones to hold on to as tight as you can?

There are spoilers in the review!

Really wonderful story. I absolutely love the authors characterization of Harry and Draco...Harry with his idea of real love.

I really liked the beginning with Harry and Ginny...Harry who wants a family and Ginny who wants to live her life.

But I think the best part in the whole story was their time in the cupboard. I loved the conversation they had and their games of rock, paper, scissors and Harry trying to do shadow puppets. Draco indirectly confessing his love to Harry and Harry not understanding a thing.

I'm sure Draco was faking sleep when Harry visited him in the hospital.

Oh, and the end...after the kiss...Draco walking away...Harry going home...taking the sleeping drought...He wanted to sleep and forget

“I know I’m asking a lot. There are no guarantees. I can’t see the future; I don’t know how it will all play out. But I know I want you. And yes, I’ve been stupid. Yes, it took me forever to get here, but I am here and I’m yours if you
want me. And I really, really hope you want me.”

I know nearly everybody quoted this back at you but it is really beautiful.

Thank you soo much for a fantastic story. I will definitely read this again.

The Great Divide by [info]scarlet_malfoy  (R, HP/DM)
If one has wavering faith, can one still have unwavering hope? A tale of beginnings and endings, of getting to the bottom of what one can live with, what one can merely endure… and what one cannot live without.

This is a really lovely story.

I loved the way the author started the story...with Harry teaching the Auror class...you could really see that he likes doing that. I think it is the perfect job for him...he is still an Auror but teaching at the same time.

Harry and Draco being friends first is great...I really like it when the realize that they could have been friends. I also liked the way the others reacted to Draco.

The pensive memory was soo sad...the way the author describes them, soo young, too thin and not too perfect...and how Harry reacts to them.

Fantastic story!

The White Dragon by [info]sassy_cissa  (R, HP/DM)
Even knights in shining armour need white dragons to save them occasionally.

This is a really beautiful story. It really makes you feel good.

I loved how the author portrayed the characters...I really love Harry in this one...Harry as a Daddy is just too cute. He worries about little Teddy and tries to be a responsible adult and a father to him. It must be really hard for a twenty-two-year old to deal with a little child and trying to figure out what to do...I'm the same age and can't imagine how difficult it has to be...

Oh god, and Draco, the way he was portrayed in this story was fantastic and I really love his job..Dr. Dragon ;)

I also really liked the way the author described Harry's attraction to Draco.

Teddy was really brilliant...I loved the way he played with the dragons...the scene with the Mummy and Daddy dragons was soo sad.

It really is a fantastic story...just read it you will definitely feel better afterwards :)

I saw The Dark Knight last night and it was really awesome. Heath Ledger as the Joker was brilliant. I was not sure if I should believe everyone when they said it last month. So, when the film arrived in my cinema this week I had to watch it as soon as possibly. Not only the Joker was fantastic...I really liked the whole story line, Harvey Dent, Christian Bale, etc.

Furthermore, I got to see the HP trailer on the big screen!!!

Vigil by [info]belleamante (NC-17, HP/SS)
The Veil was cold.

Wow, this is really powerful and intense. And I really liked it that Harry took the time to grieve even six months later.
Snape's character was so true and that just in a few lines. And of course he was the reason Harry went back to the living.

Really enjoyed it. Fantastic story!

Breaking all the Rules by [info]frayach (NC-17, HP/DM)
Malfoy is slowly wringing the last vestiges of pleasure from Harry’s life with all his rules and committees and agendas and reports. Or is he?

OMG, the author killed me with this!! I couldn't stop laughing and now I'm still laughing and can't stop.
I usually avoid crack!fics but I'm soo glad I didn't avoid this one.

Oh god, there are so many little things that were so damn funny, like Harry being the only one who was not lousing his hair. I could quote so many things that I liked but then I would just rewrite half the story. I'm so in love with all  characters...the relationship between Harry/Ginny...Ginny was so fantastic...and Hermione...and Ron not going to the club...Malfoy with his rules and regulations and dry monologues...

Ginny interrupting Harry to tell him that they have to go home was evil, really!! I was laughing so hard and at the same time cursing the author for doing that. Poor Harry.

Even through this story was really long, the end still come to soon, for me it was like I started a few minutes ago.

Umbridge...I so didn't expect that.

And Harry day dreaming while Draco was talking and talking and talking...and Harry addressing the club with "Friends, neighbors, colleagues, and fellow members of my children's play groups" or things like "Or Enlil or Anubis or . . ."

I could so hear Ginny saying things like "Oh, honey..." I could so imagine her tone of voice...Ginny...so much love!

I could go on and on about this story and will be definitely rereading it. This was just so damn hilarious. I'm still laughing. Don't know if I mentioned it yet or not but I love this story. Fantastic story!

Wall of Glass by [info]waterbird (PG-13, HP/DM)
After the war, Draco Malfoy finds that some battles are just beginning.

Oh, this is such a lovely story. It is really believable...you could really see how afraid, hurt, bored, etc. Draco is without him being molested or beaten up before that. It is not easy. The authors description sounds really realistic.

I loved the way the other prisoners reacted to Harry. And I liked that Stan befriended Draco and helped him getting used to Azkaban.

Harry was fantastic. Harry visiting Draco to see if he is alright and talking to Narcissa. The scene in which he tells Draco about his mother was stunning. Oh, and I loved the part where Draco asked Harry why he is visiting.

I think it was the perfect place to end this fic. Yes, it would have been interesting to know what Draco is going to do know and whats going to happen with Harry and him but that would have been a few thousand words more ;)

Really enjoyed it. Wonderful story!

Homecoming by [info]novembersnow (NC-17, HP/DM)
Harry thinks spending two weeks as a guest lecturer at Hogwarts will offer the perfect chance to get away from his troubles. Then he meets his assigned faculty guide: Potions Master Draco Malfoy.

There will be spoilers!

Wow, fantastic story. I still could read more of it even through it is pretty long.

The way the author wrote the divorce was so great because it was so believable. You could just imagine them being hounded by reporters even twenty years later. Oh, and really liked that Lily heard rumours about her parents and then asked them because I can really imagine that something like that could happen. Also really liked the way Ginny  was portrayed because you couldn't really blame her for what she did.

I loved Ron even through we only saw him a few times, the talk he had with Harry in the pub was soo much fun! This line was made of win:
"You?" Ron said. "Think of me. I want to know who it was you were tossing off back in school to develop that skill. It certainly wasn't your poor, neglected best mate."

Neville...great..visiting Harry at his house...knowing about him and Draco...soo much fun.

Draco...really liked it that he offered tea to Harry and then asked him about the rumours. Loved it that Harry didn't ask about the divorce and that Draco talked about it because of that.

Scorpius and Asp...Asp..this is a new one…liked it. Liked the unique way their relationship was explained.

Oh, and really liked it that the Slytherin captain, Draco and Scorpius said to him that he shouldn’t reveal secrets about the team…that was so them. And this line:
Malfoy snickered, and Harry shot him a withering look, which only made him snicker more. "Potty," he murmured, smirking.

I was laughing so hard when the headmistress caught them and afterwards when they confronted the kids!

Harry’s monologue at the end was so Harry and then Draco’s: "Merlin," he breathed. "You do mean it."
Soo perfect, really!

I enjoyed this story soo much.

On One's Knees by [info]pir8fancier (NC-17, HP/DM)
Five years after the final battle at Hogwarts, Draco Malfoy has been paroled from Azkaban and works nights as a janitor at The Daily Prophet. Harry Potter, recently married to Ginny Weasley, is training as a Healer at St. Mungo's. One wastebasket=one head injury=our story.

Fantastic story! The opening paragraph...Draco who can only cast a limited number of spells, who works night shifts at the Prophet, who has to check in with Ron, so much love. The replies he wrote instead of Lavender were the best.

Oh, and I love Pansy...her story is so tragic...the way Draco talks about her...
How Draco defines pride! Wow!

Draco's voice in general...so Draco, perfectly in character. I loved all the little details he mentioned about Harry and about his surroundings.

I loved Harry as a healer. This role fits him. He was perfection in this story, he was exhaust and was so thin...it was painful to watch. And the reason why was brilliant and such a Harry thing to do.

And Astoria, wow! I didn't expect something like that, great! I could have read another thousand words of this story and it still would have been too short. I soo didn't want it to be over.

And the end.
Spoiler )

Really enjoyed it! Thanks soo much!

(Now I want more Harry as a Healer stories like this one!)

After his father casts a mysterious curse on Harry Potter, Draco Malfoy is forced to try to make things right.
This story is soo amazing! A werewolf!Harry story...I think this is the first time I read a good one! I soo much loved the idea of this curse and it was so like Harry that he overcame it. Harry is fantastic....you can feel how struggles to remain sane and how Draco helps (in his usual way).
OMG and the sex scene...wow...loved it. Really enjoyed it a lot!

Day of the Dead by [info]_pinkchocolate (NC-17, HP/DM)
On the evening of the anniversary of the war, everything changed.
Wow, fantastic story! I sooo much love the way the author wrote Harry...the way he acts!! This line for example;
"Pretending to be straight didn't really suit me," Harry told Malfoy. "There was no reason for me to keep doing it when neither of us was getting anything out of it."
And Harry had an ultimatum for Draco...sooo great. And Draco actually does it and asks her for divorce. The way Harry interacts with Ginny, really liked it. And love the comments Draco says regarding Ginny, he doesn't like her. Also, really love the cards and that Harry gives them to Draco as a gift in the last part.
Oh, and all the flashbacks between scenes, loved them!

Team EWE:

Beneath Boundless Skies by [info]blamebrampton (R, HP/DM)
The end of one journey is the start of another. No matter how hard it is, nor how long it takes you to make the first step.
Fantastic story! I soo much loved Harry and the way he interacted with others. I really loved it that the story was set directly after the battle and continued from there. It was a perfect mix between sad scenes, humorous ones, witty ones, serious....
Oh, and I really liked Prof. McGonagall...she was really IC. And the funerals...great...and I loved it when Harry arrived at the Burrow...the way he was greeted by Arthur and Molly...the way Ginny acted and George...love him and the speech he held at the funeral.
Draco and Harry together in Australia was fantastic...
And the many OCs the author included...normally it confuses the hell out of me but for some reason it didn't in this story...big compliment...I really don't know how the author managed to do it. I really loved Hannah...
Marvelous story!

Lamp in the Cooling Room by [info]sansa1970 (R, HP/DM)
Draco and Harry become snared in a trap, but they're not alone. Love guides our path for reasons we can't always understand.
This is such a wonderful story. I just love the way the author writes the little girls POV. She was so real...and I really love the way she interacts with Harry and Draco (calling them Potter and Malfoy!)
I love the characterization of Harry and Draco. At the end when they are both so weak (Harry can't stand up) and they say to her she should go and she doesn't want to but still does...wow...and then she turns around and sees them whispering and leaning against each other...so fantastic!
Oh, and I know that this is an ambiguous ending but I got the feeling that the boys didn't make it.

The Last Voice by malachic (PG-13, HP/DM)
Who knew a single letter could change so much?
The thing about this story is that it has not even 6000 words but you read it and everything fits together, it doesn't feel short at all.
l so much loved the idea that Harry's generation started their own newspaper. I loved it from the first moment. For this idea alone the author should get an award.
This story was all about the relationship between Harry and Draco. It shows us how it can still work after the epilogue. Oh, and I really like their "tradition" even when it is really bad if you think about it.
This is a really wonderful story...Draco's voice...Harry's voice...they complete each other! Beautiful

On an unhappy Christmas Eve in Somerset, Harry finds the last person he expects to see cooking in the kitchen of an inn.
Fantastic story! I just love the way the author uses the next generation. I've never seen it done like that before. Love it. And I really liked the way the author solves the "Snape is dead" problem. Harry is really lovely...still the same we know but matured.

Blind Leading the Blind by [info]nqdonne (NC-17, HP/DM)
Harry catches wise to a series of blind items in the Daily Prophet's gossip pages that sound suspiciously like him. Except no one knows that he's gay, do they?
This story killed me. I didn't want to read it because I read recs for it and thought I wouldn't like it. I was so wrong. I started reading it and then there was Teddy and I was in love. He had the best timing in this story and his reaction!! The sex scene, the letters Draco wrote, mini-Draco...
Harry at the club, Harry in the sex shop, Harry reading the column...and the revelation what this is all about!!
Oh, and I loved the children. James who wants to impress a girl who is a Ravenclaw, awestruck Scorpius,...Ginny as a Quidditch reporter was really interesting, it suited her.
Really fantastic story!

Btw, I'm nearly caught up with all the stories posted, only two more to read! I'm sure that I'm going to fall behind again as soon as the Snarry Games start posting.

Take A Sad Song (And Make It Better) by [info]femmequixotic (NC-17, HP/DM)
The last thing Harry wants is to lose his kids.
This story is so beautiful and true. You read it and believe every word of it. The whole divorce was handled so well...I've never seen in done like this in a story before.
Furthermore, everyone is true to their character. The kids, how they reacted to the divorce, especially James. Scorpius, never saw him portrayed like this, I really liked him. And Ron, I adore your Ron, that was the perfect reaction for him. I also really liked it that you had Hermione stick with Harry even when she was disappointed. The way your portrayed Ginny was really realistic...when she says to Harry that she wants to hurt him I can so believe her! Hell, we saw George, Snape and McGonagall only once and I liked them.
I really liked the opening scene. I could vividly imagine middle aged Harry sitting on the floor, drinking, smoking and staring up at the ceiling. I also really liked Harry's flat blowing up because this is something that doesn't happen all the time, But I absolutely adored Godric and was really sad that you had to kill him...this line was truly heartbreaking "His hand shook. "He—" He broke off, voice tight. "Stupid dog," he whispered, and he pulled away."
This story was really made of awesome and there are still about thousands things I could say. Really great, realistic, fantastic story!

Neither epilogue-compliant nor EWE; seven separate demonstrations that you can't stop the signal.
This story is absolutely gorgeous. I've never seen this style done before (I loved the backwards structure!) but for me it is the ultimate proof that H/D can exist after DH and that they can get together at any time of their lives. The last section was so perfect and little Teddy...loved him! The scene where Draco showed up in a bathrobe at Harry's house...soo funny! And I really loved Harry's fascination with Draco's mouth and smile in each section.

Yesterday [info]hd_worldcup finally started. I only read one story because there was not enough time to read all four. I choose Team Fanon for no particularly reason.

Prodigal by [info]aoifene (NC-17, HP/DM)
One year after Dumbledore's death, the tide turns in Voldemort's favour and with Harry Potter locked in the Malfoy dungeons, the fate of the Wizarding World seems bleak. Who'll save the saviour when he's in need of saving?

After finishing the story I knew why I waited with bathed breath for posting to begin. It is a really fantastic story. It is Draco-centric and first person. You could really identify with his feelings and thoughts...the way he handles his father is breathtaking.
Harry was also perfect. He was so Gryffindor, so Harry, simply perfect!
Furthermore, I loved how the ending was resolved...the way Draco's dream was incorporated.

Quote... )

This is a really fantastic story. Just perfect! (not that I expected anything less from [info]hd_worldcup)

On another note, I have to confess I'm still a little bit confused how this whole voting works but I'm not giving up!
